Start your journey at the Temple of Heaven, a dignified complex of religious buildings, symbolizing the relationship between Earth and Heaven. Observe locals doing morning exercise in their unique ways. Enjoy lunch at a popular local restaurant with authentic cuisine, with your guide helping to order dishes you like. Walk through Tian'anmen Square to explore the mysterious Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in the world. After breakfast, travel to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Listen to stories about this world wonder as your guide shows you the most recommended section for a walk. In the afternoon, head to Simatai Great Wall and spend time wandering around the Guibei Water Town at its foot. Enjoy a soak in a hot spring if desired. When it gets dark, take the cable car up to the Simatai section for stunning night views, the only section that's open and lit up at night.

Enjoy breakfast and travel back to Beijing city to explore the Summer Palace, a royal masterpiece of Chinese landscaped gardens. After lunch, take a high-speed train to Xi'an.

In the morning, uncover the mystery of the underground army at the Terracotta Army Museum. Visit a local craftsman's cave dwelling and learn to make a mini terracotta warrior. In the afternoon, visit the ancient city wall, which has guarded the inner city for 600 years. Walking along the wall offers a good view of the city, and you can also rent a bike to cycle around.

Discover more of Xi'an's ancient history at the Xi'an History Museum and Little Wild Goose Pagoda. Head to the Muslim Quarter to taste local cuisine. Fly to Guilin in the afternoon.

Begin your day exploring the Longji Terraced Rice Fields, beautifully reflecting the sun on the water of the paddy fields. Experience the Zhuang minority's unique food, such as bamboo rice and oil tea. Sit around a bonfire in a traditional kitchen and make bamboo rice with the host.

Enjoy a cruise along the Li River, passing spectacular limestone peaks, graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and water buffalo cooling off in the river. Disembark in Yangshuo town around 1:30 pm and explore the famous West Street. Transfer to a cozy hotel in the countryside and enjoy free time for the rest of the day.

Drive toward the south of Yangshuo to explore peaceful villages. Meet locals on their way to the fields with water buffalo or working in the paddy. Visit an old couple living in a traditional house and learn about their lifestyle. Continue to an old ferry along the Li River, reflecting the busy water transportation of the past. Take a ferry and a local farmer's taxi to the market. Your guide will explain different types of food and local people's daily necessities. Fly to Shanghai in the afternoon.
