Fenghuang Ancient Town, located in the southwestern part of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, is a vibrant community of 28 ethnic groups, making it a typical settlement of various ethnic minorities.

Situated in the southern part of the Wuling Mountains, its name is inspired by the mountains resembling a phoenix about to take flight. Fenghuang Ancient Town has 68 cultural relics and ancient buildings, 116 historical sites, over 120 well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty residential buildings, and more than 30 temples and museums, making it the county with the most existing cultural heritage in Southwest China.
